Igbo Presidency ‘Igbos should allow North to finish their turn,’ APC chieftain replies Obasanjo

Apugo explained further that Igbos must wait for the North to finish its second term of office before showing any interest.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Abia State, Prince Benjamin Apugo has said that Igbos cannot produce Nigeria’s president till 2023.

Apugo explained further that Igbos must wait for the North to finish its second term of office before showing any interest.
He made the comments while speaking to journalists at his home in Nkata Ibeku.
“What I do know is that Ndi Igbo should talk about Presidency after President Muhammadu Buhari. I think we should support this government,” he said according to Daily Trust.
“Former President Obasanjo feels he can muzzle the Igbos because he perceived we do not have a leader; why should Obasanjo say 2019 is the turn of the Igbos, is he an Igbo man?
“Or is he the one who gives presidency to any race? If its Obasanjo that gives president to anybody, why didn’t he succeed himself when he sought for a third term?” he added.
Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo had said, on Tuesday, January 24, that Igbos should be given a shot at the presidency in 2019.
