Senator Wants to Honor Megachurch Preacher Creflo Dollar in Unusual Way

Georgia State Senator Donzella James wants to name a portion of an Atlanta highway for evangelist Creflo Dollar.
"This is a church that's doing things in the community to make things better," James told a WSB-TV reporter. "So many people have requested this, not even people who go to World Changers."
Dollar's World Changers church is based in
College Park, Georgia , one of the most dangerous suburbs of Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The resolution reads, in part, as follows:
WHEREAS, Reverend Creflo Dollar has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and WHEREAS, Reverend Dollar is the founder and senior pastor of World Changers Church International in College Park, Georgia, World Changers Church-New York, and a host of 8 fellowship churches located throughout the United States and Australia; and WHEREAS, recognized for his cutting-edge revelation and humorous, pragmatic approach, Reverend Dollar enables thousands to experience grace, restoration, and healing as a result of applying simple biblical principles to their lives; and WHEREAS, he is a world-renowned Bible teacher, a sought-after conference speaker, and a best-selling author, with hundreds of books, CDs, and DVDs in distribution worldwide; and WHEREAS, Reverend Dollar is the publisher of the online publication, CHANGE magazine, and his award-winning "Changing the World" television broadcast reaches nearly 1 billion 16 viewers around the globe; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message be recognized by dedicating a road in his honor.
