The Punch reports that the ministry said the incessant rate of robbery, cultism, drug abuse and corruption, among other social ills, could have totally subdued the
state, but for the grace of God. This was said yesterday, Wednesday, August 24, at Gbagada, Lagos, during a publicity crusade. The publicity crusade was organised by the ministry with the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
The 20-day event, tagged, ‘Supernatural Power of God’s Wonders,’ will begin on September 8 and cover 17 local government areas of the state. According to the church’s state moderator, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, the event will be unprecedented and the ministry’s general overseer, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, would be one of the men of God that would minister at the event.
He said, “The crusade will be unprecedented because its geographical spread will cover every nook and cranny of Lagos State, including Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry.”
Fasanmi said the alarming rate of crime in the state necessitated the crusade, adding that despite the change mantra of the present administration, real change remained elusive to the people of Lagos State.
Just recently, Pastor Kumuyi visited Adamawa. Prior to his visit, the state overseer of the church in Adamawa, Pastor Adeniyi Hassan had said the church was concerned about the plight of the people affected by the insurgency and Kumuyi had expressed his passion to visit the state.
