Man Spends 10 Years Handwriting and Illustrating Bible, Sells It for Charity

A 78-year-old man recently completed a 10-year project of handwriting an illustrating a copy of the Bible.
Dino Mazzoli, of Italy, began the project in 2001 after being forced to leave his job at a book shop due to mobility issues. He worked on the project for
hours every day, using parker pens, watercolors and collages to illustrate Bible scenes.

The 1,500 page book includes 5,000 illustrations, according to Christian Today.
Mazzoli has now turned his work into an eBook that is available on iTunes and is selling the digital copies for charity. The artist wants to donate the proceeds to go to Save the Children and other non-profit organizations.

Mazzoli told the Daily Mail, "I know it is perhaps considered old-fashioned but I am a Christian and this was something I wanted to do. It is unique - people have told me that they have not seen anything like it before.”
The artist plans to keep painting since completing the Bible project.

"I will keep painting. I do pictures for friends and love painting my family. I can't go out anymore because of my health, but I still have my painting and I am thankful for that," Mazzoli said.
