JESUS, THE EXPLANATION OF ALL THINGS!!

“Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself (Luke 24:25-27).

The bible is a sacred book, containing in its context ONE message - Jesus Christ. Hence, we say the scriptures are Christo-centric, Christ centered. "Search the scriptures; for in them
ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."(John5:39)

"Philip findeth Nathaniel, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” (John 1:45). Jesus is the explanation of all things!

Moses, the prophets and the psalms were all ahead, writing or pointing to, Jesus. The scriptures remain a mystery until you look at them through the eyes of Jesus' finished work on the cross. Stop looking at the bible as Old and New Testament only, but beyond that, as a revelation of the different dealings of God with man through the ages, perfected in the appearance of Jesus.(Hebrews 2:1-2) Jesus is God's last word for the New Testament believer; everything God said before and now, and will ever say, is Jesus Christ .

The Old Testament is the agreement God had with Isreal as a standard (in types and shadows), to point them to their helplessness and need to believe in Jesus. Jesus showed up, fulfilled the law (with all its requirements), and ended it for man. So Jesus is the end of the law for (standing in) righteousness.

The scriptures come to us two-fold: types/shadows, and the reality.

"Such things are the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality, the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:17amp)

Your walk as a Christian is only as effective as your understanding of the things that are yours in Christ. Remember, if your interpretation is wrong, your belief will be wrong, and so your practice will be wrong!

The Old Testament is Jesus concealed, the New Testament is Jesus revealed. You only understand the Old Testament through the revelation of Jesus. The Old Testament had types, shadows, prophecies and promises. The New Testament is the fulfillment of all in Christ (Hebrews 10:1; Colossians 2:16-17)

The Old Testament was given by angels, powered by the blood of bulls and goats (Galatians 3:18-20; Hebrews 2:2; Acts 7:35-36). The New Testament is powered by the blood of Jesus, given to us by Jesus (Hebrews 8:6). The Old Testament could never take away sin, Hebrews 10:1-4; the coming of Jesus took away sins. John 1:29, Hebrews 10:12-14.

The Old Testament was a conditional testament (Deuteronomy 28:1 -3, Exodus 15:26), in the New Testament, all conditions were met by Christ - for us, as our Lamb and High Priest, so we enjoy unconditional blessings in Him (Ephesians 1:3). The Old Testament justified no one (Romans 3:20, Galatians 2:15), the New Testament in Jesus justified us by faith in his blood. (Romans 5:1-2)

The New Testament is not in a book, but in the blood of Jesus (Mathew 26:28). The New Testament has produced a New Race, a New Breed, the New Creation man, created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24)

The New Testament came by the grace of God, which teaches us how to live: no more by the law of commandments, but by the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, which has set us free from the (old) law of sin and death! (Titus 2:11-12, Romans 8:2)

“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Galatians 2:21)

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" (Galatians 3:10-13)

“Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” (Galatians 5:4)

Say out loud- I am of faith in Christ Jesus, I acknowledge and accept what He has done for me and in me. I am the new creation in Christ, I live in grace, I stand in grace, and his grace is enough for me! I am in Him justified, He is in me glorified! Amen!
